February 2022 Housing Market Update
Existing home sales up 6.7% according to the National Association
of REALTORS®. Experts attribute the growth in sales to an uptick in mortgage interest rates. Mortgage rates have increased almost a full percentage point since December.
New Listings were down in the Asheville region by 13.7 percent to 888. Pending Sales decreased 4.1 percent to 1,003. Inventory shrank 46.5 percent to 1,077 units.

January 2022 Housing Market Update
The 2022 real estate market begins where 2021 left off, in which existing home sales reached their highest level since 2006. We are experiencing a very strong seller's market in the region. Inventory of existing homes in the Asheville region was the lowest level recorded since 1999 and has been slowly declining since 2015, according to Canopy MLS, Inc, and competition remains fierce.
