My life paths, attention to detail, love of people and creative flair have led me here. I have watched the real estate market from all angles for many years; it makes sense this is now my chosen career.
Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, one of four siblings, I followed family footsteps, graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Business Administration. I still follow my Gamecocks and love of college sports, as my parents did for 42 years. Today, my husband, our little dog, our grown children, and my grandchildren are the focus of my spare time as we enjoy the beauty of the mountains and Lake Keowee in upstate South Carolina.
My career began as a tax accountant for a certified financial planner and tax advisor. I am a numbers person. I developed a focus for detail, as well as my enjoyment of meeting the public and getting to know people; both on a professional and a personal level. My exposure to, knowledge of and interest in the world of real estate began when I landed the position of acquisitions accountant for one of the largest commercial real estate firms east of the Mississippi.
In 2001, I moved to and immediately fell in love with the beauty of Asheville; Asheville became home. Partnering with my late husband, we successfully ran a commercial utility construction company. Through this experience, I established relationships with local builders and municipalities, as well as those across multiple states. In 2018, I closed the business with the passing of my late husband. I enjoyed a brief respite as a gardener at The Biltmore Estate; what an experience, drawing on my love of flowers, gardening, landscape design, just being outdoors! Giving back to the community, I had the opportunity to volunteer for the accountant position of the Buncombe County Guardian Ad Litem program; actively for the past four years and now as a consultant to the current accountant.
I understand the emotions of the buyer and seller. I have experienced both many times over. Navigating the importance and impact of moving your family during the high school years is tough, I have done that. Finding a gem that hasn’t been cut; recognizing good bones, I can visualize a restructure and redesign to make it home; I have done that too.
Choosing a home or selling your home are two of the biggest decisions you will make. I take that to heart and want to help you find that place. When you find it, you know it, this is home.
